Songpull, Brogan's style! My wife and I transformed what used to be a typical, old, scary basement area of our house into an irish pub suitable for the Cliffs of Mohr. So, this Springfield Songpull was still held at my house, but the atmosphere in the basement pub, was a much needed change for us and Songpull alike. We had 6 pullers, including newcomer Wayland Harman and returning Kansas City puller, Adam McGrath. The stage was set and the fire was stoked as we launched into our 18th pull. I can't help but think about how far we've come since our first pull and how many stories have been made at these events. With a new year underway, we all seem to do some pondering about life and the previous year and I find myself feeling very proud of what we've accomplished thru Songpull and all the new friends that I've made because of it. I set the website up on one of the TV's in the pub so that people could sign up to Songpull right there. We also played loops of previous Songpull DVD's that we made in the early days. Matt Long closed the evening with a mini-concert. Mostly, his Songpull songs made up the set. We just all sat back and enjoyed the fruits of this whole idea. It made me realize that Songpull is not only getting together and video taping new songs, but also following those songs as they change and develop into real music that continues to effect people long after they were written. We're ending another year for Songpull and beginning a new one...let's make it the year of finding ourselves and others thru music and song.
