Songpull 5

Located in Springfield, MO. Directed by Daniel Fritz

A very emotional Songpull for the Springfield gang...just a couple of weeks earlier, my Dad died unexpectedly the day after father's day. That father's day weekend was spent in Branson, Mo. on the lake, spending time together. Oran and Trevor brought their wives and girlfriends down, to kick it with us, on the boat. Trevor actually played a song for us on the boat, which was going to be his new Songpull song, called "Mama's Gone". Tom Fritz was a huge Songpull fan, and would drive from St. Louis, Mo. to Springfield, once a month for each one. There are a few songs other than Trevor's now "Daddy's Gone" that pay tribute to Tom...Brad Barnerd's, "Good Ol Tom" and my song "A Man Takes Two", which I started writing for my son Elvis days before Dad's passing. But, this Songpull will go down in history for the songs and the stories. Barney Fritz brought the first song he's ever written in his life, "Pocket Aces" which is reqested whenever he's around. Brad Russell stumbled on genius with "Don't Know Who You Are Until You Try" and Mark Price nailed it with the first Songpull performance with a fiddle. And don't short change yourself by not watching the arm wrestling. We're not sure what started this whole thing, but there's some good stuff in that list of outtakes. I will always say that Songpull's potential and power was closest brushed by Springfield Songpull #5.
