The August edition of the Austin Songpull quickly turned into gospel hour with spiritual songs taking 3/5 of the pie. The night was started off right with another great tune from new puller James Wetz. “The Well� featured a great choppy guitar line and one of the most invigorating chorus’ seem at the Austin pull. Jason Poe followed it up with his first stab at writing a modern day hymn. Newcomer Chaylce Bland made everyone smile with her short and witty tune entitled “Caffeination.� Chris Mallonee brought another solid song based on Psalm 16 and dedicated it to his father off camera. Then Jason Poe finished the night with “Shame, Shame, Shame,� a song about his frustrations with today’s Christians. One of the best parts of the night was not the music, but the food provided by Jade Poe. It featured her first batch of homemade salsa, and a fondue bar that had everyone stuffed by the end of the night!
