Songpull 4
Located in Springfield, MO. Directed by Daniel Fritz
Wow! What an incredible Songpull night! Our pullers had grown to 12. We had some first timers, which is always fun. In trying to continue the development of this Songpull idea, we were constantly thinking of trying new things. Whether it be with the interviews, or the room that we perform in, or just whatever. We did the interviews in Elvis' bedroom (that's my son's name). Grace Pierson brought some nice lighting for the cameras and we set it all up. The background is a mural that Brad Barnerd painted (who performed for the first time at this particular Songpull). We decided on confessional style interviews. There is no one asking questions, but before we let each puller in the room we encouraged them to cover certain topics or questions, and let it go from there. There are so many standouts at this pull. Oran Thornton's K.I.S.S.I.N.G will give you goosebumps at how good it is. There's a very interesting story for Trevor Thornton's "Blues...". He has come to me since this Songpull wondering why everyone laughs as he sings about death and floods in New Orleans?"....it's a complicated story... you have to watch the performance. Come to think of it, this is the Songpull that may determine all of our fates when it comes to making it into Heaven...watch Alcoholic Song. It's disturbing. I'm just hoping and believing that if we are made in God's image then it must mean that he has a sense of humor....or we're going to hell.
