Songpull 2

Located in Springfield, MO. Directed by Daniel Fritz

It was hard to know what to expect at the second Songpull ever. We all had a great time at the first one, but it was so new and filled with unexpected feelings and emotions. Even the decision to video tape the event and do interviews was last minute. The first Songpull was very "thrown together" and we had no idea if it was even going to work. After realizing that it works, we couldn't wait to start planning our next one on the first saturday of April, 2006. We took the time to set up a great looking spot for the interviews in my basement. Actually, we didn't set anything up...we just found a cool looking place in my old-house-basement and worked a little on the lighting and bada bing bada boom we pulled off some great looking interviews. Our great friend, Ken Bassham drove down from Kansas City and conducted the interviews, which added so much to the humor and cut up nature of all our pullers. He had a great way of "pulling" a lot of funny footage and still getting the important information needed to understand each of the songs. Most of the songs from this Songpull (like the first Songpull) were truly amazing. It was the first time that we realized that Songpull isn't just for the professional or seasoned musician. The songs and performances at Songpull 2 were great because the songs were great. Songpull is about the heart. It's certainly not to say that there isn't incredibly talented pullers in this group, it's just to say that it really doesn't matter, when understanding this new thing we called Songpull. I think this is the thing that we all took from this particular night that helped us mold a define what it was we were doing. It's not open mic. It's not a showcase. It's not an audition. It's Songpull.
