Songpull 17
Located in Kansas City, MO. Directed by David Hakan
I have just started working till 6:00 p.m. and usually I arrive with all the Songpull gear at 5:30 at the coffeehouse. Luckily, many Songwriters Circle members pitched in to get us set up. Kaye and Michael Johnston let me bring over the sound gear and they took it over to set it up. Jim Herrmann and Rick Malsick helped get the sound going for us, too. Kaye did the interviews. (I didn’t even think to show her how to run the camera.) Kaye did all this and performed with an “air boot” cast on her foot. We had a new Songpuller, Ron McManaman. And Sabrina Hardy returned after a one- year absence. (She’s been busy chasing after a two-year old.) We have had much discussion about our song circle style of performance. It is not a jam, but sometimes people learn the songs and join in. So I did an introduction for the audience and new Circle members to make things clear. Then at the change between song circles people started up an impromptu JAM, of course.
