Songpull 10
Located in Springfield, MO. Directed by Daniel Fritz
According to the Songpull rules, the instruments must be acoustic. It doesn't state that it has to be a guitar. So once again, we wanted to continue digging into new ideas and keep it fresh. Also, since Songpull started in Springfield, it was almost our duty to define what it was. Does it still work on the piano? Does it have to be planned? Can interviews be funny, serious, confessional style, long or short? Which way works the best? What do viewers like the most? These are all questions that we've tried to answer for the last 9 months and will continue to try and answer for who knows how long. I know that doing Songpull on the piano does work! This was a fun night. Changing up the routine proved to be a great idea. Not only were the songs different, but some of the performers were as well. Richard Baptiste and Cindy Woolf decided to join us for the first time. Cindy would go on to host a Christmas Songpull at her house a month later. Even Oran Thornton's "No Song" is a testament to pushing yourself. It's probably not going to become a hit on the radio, but there is still something about songwriting that's like anything else. The more you try new things, the more you condition yourself to become changed in your approach and your abilities.
