About the Song

I read an article in the New York Times by Nikolas Kristof about a Middle Eastern woman who was raped by her cousin and because she brought "dishonor" to her family by losing her virginity, she was forced to walk thru her village naked. She escaped to the United States before being murdered in a ritual "honor killing". Her story was so tragic, I learned this happens to many women, I wanted to write a song giving her a voice to tell her story.

About the Songwriter

I recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in International Politics & Diplomacy. I am going to Law School in August to study International Human Rights. I would like to use my music as a platform to inform people about social justice issues.
