About the Song
This Song is a rewrite. Not a 30 day song. (Outtakes?) An answer to the question "What are progressive values?" using George Lakoff's ideas put into song.
About the Songwriter
I wrote songs back in the eighties with rock and roll bands. Then I got married and had kids. Fifteen years later, I started writing again. This time much of my writing is designed to make a difference in the world by making people think about others who are less fortunate, and move people in a progressive direction, as well as inspire progressive people to get involved in making the world a better place for everyone. Along the way if I can inspire other songwriters to join me in this effort, that's a bonus. Together we can make a difference.

Feb 08, 2008Thank you DaveJonesLocker W. for your thoughtful critique of this song.

Apr 19, 2008I agree that davyjoneslocker was not very thoughtful, but neither is this song. Everyone else's values are wrong if they're not like the ones pushed in the song? That does smell. We all think differently. You need to get a brain, along with some tolerance of other views.
Jim H. Says:
May 15, 2008So, the right wing nuts can say they are "values voters", but if someone pushes progressive values they need to be tolerant? This song is an answer to the far right bull shit that has dominated our public discourse for the last twenty five years. It's time to take back the discussion to talk about what's important to the regular people of this country. Would you disagree with any of the values listed in the song?
