Performed in Kansas City, MO at Songpull 10

About the Song

I started this at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas this year (2007). With me, a good solid dose of pickin’ can push those blues aside—except the ones I want to sing to make me feel so good inside.

About the Songwriter

I grew up singing and playing music with my sister. I got into songwriting in the late sixties by first setting other people’s lyrics to music then by branching out into writing my own lyrics. At times I have been a prolific songwriter. Other times my writing has veered off in the direction of developing math materials. Participating in Songwriter’s Circle has spurred me to continue to write songs. Whether writing math or music or both, I always keep both feet planted in music by performing and attending many jams, trying to maintain or increase skills on at least 5 of the 10 musical instruments I play. My latest endeavor is joint effort with a friend, musician and writer, Mike Walker, to put together a book about jam tips and basics of music theory to help the jammer Play Well With Others and to avoid those train wrecks.
