About the Song

This song was written about a shitty neighbor who used to live next door. One night while playing music in the basement (albiet loudly) at around 8:30 (not usually past most 40 year olds bed times) he came over and verbally assaulted my wife and threatened to come inside and personally stop us from playing. My attempt to reconcile and have an adult conversation with him was returned with "I don't need friends". So after brooding over this incident for years I finally wrote a song about it. I take what I perceieve as his perspective for the verses and the joyous newly weds perspective (my wife and I) for the chorus.

About the Songwriter

I love music, being outdoors, cooking, any board sport, running, beer, and of course my wife and daughter. I've been a 2nd rate musician since I formed my first band the Doughnut Midgets in Junior High (I was the drummer). I'd like to have music be a career someday but I'm afraid I'm too good looking for people to take me seriously.
