About the Song
This song is a continuing conversation between two friends, one in France and one in the USA during the past several years.
About the Songwriter
I have been hosting new song nights for songwriters since January of 1993 with the Songwriters Circle of KC. We celebrate 15 years for the Circle in October of 2007. I figure it was our 178th new song night. We have probably outlasted about 10 coffeehouses where we used to perform. I am working on getting a strong set of songs for my sixth CD this year.

Nov 30, 2008I like this tune. It's more my speed perhaps. I like that they're still talking in the story.

Nov 30, 2008Not much of a fan of political content but I'll get over that. I really like the fingerpicking. I would at very least suggest you change the lyrical phrasing of 'for lucrative contracts galore' to something shorter, more workable. It sounds like you're trying to fit in too many syllables in there too fast. It sticks out. And, if I may - this song could use a bridge. A bridge to bolster/emphasize the theme maybe.
This is a well mixed tune with potential. Nice work.
