About the Song

This is fiction, but it comes from all the observations I’ve made at various music clubs in town. I couldn’t think of how to start the second verse, then I was driving and noticed a young woman driving in front of me with the mirror turned at an odd unusable angle. Then it hit me; she had turned it to check her face and just left it there.

About the Songwriter

I have been hosting new song nights for songwriters since January of 1993 with the Songwriters Circle of KC. We celebrate 15 years for the Circle in October of 2007. I figure it was our 178th new song night. We have probably outlasted about 10 coffeehouses where we used to perform. I am working on getting a strong set of songs for my sixth CD this year.
