Jason Gaylor explains that, for him, just getting thru the performance of the song for now, can prove to be more important than whether or not it's even finished. Because, you can always go back and work on lyrics or chord progression, but for now, at least the idea is there and it gives you the ability to pick and choose which songs you may want to continue to work on and put on a record.
